The RockSport Black Reservoir Shock Absorbers are individually designed, meticulously refined and precisely manufactured at MetalCloak’s headquarters. These 2.5″ diameter aluminum shocks feature 8-stage compression adjustment, allowing you to fine tune your suspension to your gold standard.

The digressive valving used provides excellent performance for both slow and fast suspension operation.
The body is made of 2.5″ diameter aluminum with a 3/16″ wall, with a large internal volume for fluid for effective cooling and durability in off-road and on-road conditions.
The reservoir is connected to the shock absorber by a stainless steel braided hose with an operating pressure of up to 3,000 psi, padded with plastic and optimized for smooth oil flow.
A unique valve stack with parabolic washers (patent pending) offers a compact and simplified design, eliminating the problems of conventional valve systems and enabling precise performance.
The complete design maximizes the length of the piston rod and provides more stroke than any other monotube shock absorber of similar size – even the inner surfaces of the end nuts have been machined for increased range of motion.
The hard anodizing process (Mil-Spec Type III – clear) used on the shock absorber piston protects the component from wear associated with rapid fluid flow, guaranteeing long life.
The 7/8″ pistons are hard chrome plated and induction hardened to a hardness of more than 60 on the Rockwell (C) scale, providing greater durability than most competitive solutions and resistance to stone impact – while maintaining a smooth surface for gaskets and wipers.
A triple sealing system keeps oil inside and prevents debris from entering. A removable Bump Cap protects the seal assembly from damage at full bump and allows access for servicing the shock.
A large, milled knob with laser-applied markings allows you to easily change compression settings – there are 8 levels to choose from, each of which increases damping force by 15%, allowing you to perfectly tune your off-road and daily driving comfort.
The shock mounts with built-in offset mounts that provide more suspension travel while still fitting like the factory ones.
RockSport Black shocks come with a reservoir mount made of 1/8″ sheet metal, laser-cut and finished in gold zinc.
Also included is a gold zinc-coated lower shock mount, designed to move the mounting point away from the Jeep frame – increasing ground clearance and protecting the shock. This mount is made from 3/16″ thick hot-rolled steel, laser-cut and CNC-formed for a perfect fit.
