The half-shafts are made from 4340 chromomolybdenum steel and double heat-treated for exceptional strength and durability – making the Carbon Off-road half-shafts more than 50% stronger than the factory ones! The half-shafts are designed with Spicer’s large 5-7166X series universal joints. The Spicer joints are made from a one-piece cold-formed body, and their pivots are hardened for added strength. The pivot is precision ground and surface hardened to ensure durability, and a multi-lip seal effectively traps grease inside and protects against contaminants. The Spicer U-Joints come fully assembled, equipped with standard safety features and ready to install, and include driver and passenger side half-shafts and a blanking plug (block off plate). The blanking plate replaces the housing with a vacuum-actuated fork, allowing the CAD (center axle disconnect) housing to be converted to a one-piece design. Note: Removal of the FAD system may cause driveshaft vibration. A programmer (e.g., Tazer Mini) will be required to remove the dashboard warning.
